The Pathological Argument

I can’t stand people that walk away from an argument when they know they’re wrong. They only do it because they’re offended by the other person’s attempts to correct them. They say their peace and turn a blind eye to their faults.

They can’t handle the truth.

If you are offended by something, ANYTHING,  it is only because you have decided not to learn the lessons you ought to from it, and in doing so, you have doomed yourself to addressing this same thing over and over until you come to embrace it for the good it has.

You can’t run from your problems.

Instead of blaming others and scapegoating your problems, trace back the errors until you find the root fault in your own judgment.

Maybe it’s just left brain dominance; heir to the throne of logical positivism. If your logic has hit a brick wall and forces you to disagree with someone, stop. Put yourself in their shoes. Identify. See the jackass you are to them.

Accept what you have previously laid blame upon as a display of truth in recognition to this error of judgment.

Instead of deeming the situation as detrimental, accept it as a lesson and learn from it.

Be sure to nominate The Model Citizen for publication.
Model City had once thrived, owing its glory to the success of the Love Canal and the genius of Nikola Tesla. Now, it suffers from economic collapse. In a city laden with crime, wanton heroes emerge. A mysterious character begins to lead the blind, and a mountain of conspiracy clouds the minds of the righteous.
Burdened by conjecture and stricken with grief, William Howell somehow manages to climb the corporate ladder. The Model Citizen newspaper represents to him the true word of the people. It is up to him to determine its quality.
